As a part of our "Play Around the World" unit we designed playgrounds and built models of our ideas.

We once had a healthy, green vine in our classroom where we place all of our paper Jacks and a grizzly giant. Then, on Monday, we realized that the vine had died. This is what they had to say about that: "Mrs. Luebbe didn't water it!" "We need to water it!" "Oh , no. If we water it the water will fall on the ground. " "I know...let's get a bucket!!."
This is an example of inquiry based learning. From here, we will try the bucket experiment in hopes of seeing our vine turn green. In the end, perhaps more learning will happen when we discuss the importance of roots. This vine was a part of our phonics lesson, but easily is a part of science as well.

There's a lot happening everyday. We used our umbrellas to learn about the letter U and to discuss how thing are the SAME or DIFFERENT or SIMILAR in math.
